When we launched Ride Revolution Scotland, one of our key goals was to deliver high-quality cycling fitness coaching tailored specifically for recreational riders. While there’s no shortage of coaches focusing on competitive cyclists, we noticed a clear gap in support for everyday riders who still want expert guidance—just without the pressure of racing.

We’ve always resonated well with the recreational cycling community. In fact, around 30% of our clients are individuals who have no desire to race or even participate in sportives. Our recreational riders come from all walks of life, spanning ages from 18 to 70, with an even mix of men and women. Our coaches work with these types of cyclists, regularly and successfully! No matter your gender, age, or experience level, you can count on our team’s expertise to help you ride stronger and more confidently.

All of our coaching packages are open to recreational riders, regardless of the names we’ve given them. They’re just labels—we promise they’re not as intimidating as they might sound! Whether you’re working with limited training time or looking to take your cycling to the next level, we’ll build a plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. Many of our riders are amazed at the progress they make, even with just a few focused hours of training each week.

We understand that not every cyclist is interested in racing. However, plenty still want to ride faster, build endurance, and increase their overall strength. How our Cycle Fitness Coaching works

Step 1

Initial Consultation

From your initial enquiry with us, our Head Coach, Jake Hales will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. We like to get a good understanding of your current situation, goals, style and general cycling history. Jake will then recommend the best RideRevolution coach for your needs, all are skilled and experienced.

Step 2

Where are you at?

Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.

Step 3

And so it begins..

Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your ride data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each rider.

Step 4

Ongoing Development

Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
